When Thung Nham’s nature whispers its love

Nestled amidst the mountains, waters, and ancient canopy of Thung Nham, the ‘Songs of Nature’ minishow (performing daily from the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year) unveils a real-scene art space where nature is no longer a static backdrop, but a living, breathing entity.

In the perfect harmony of light, sound, and the landscape’s rhythm, every step becomes a moment of reflection—allowing us to slow down, listen to nature, and ultimately, listen to ourselves.”

Prologue

SONGS OF NATURE – PROLOGUE

In those fleeting moments when light still lingers upon the canopy, when the earth retains the day’s fading warmth and the wind begins to whisper through the crags, nature ceases to be a mere static backdrop. Here, every subtle movement—the flutter of an insect’s wing, the silent drift of the stream, a bird gliding across the sky, or a flower blooming in quietude—carries its own resonance, weaving together a wordless symphony.

"Songs of Nature" seeks not to replicate the natural world through literal illustration or direct representation. Instead, it unfolds an experiential realm where body movement, light, sound, and the very breath of the landscape intertwine. It invites you to perceive nature as a living entity—at once fragile yet resilient, silent yet ceaselessly transforming.

Within this narrative flow, humanity does not stand at the center but becomes an integral part of a shifting ecosystem. Each performance is a fragment of the life cycle: departure, ascent, rebirth, and blossoming—like chapters in the endless epic of existence. Here, art does not merely recount nature; it listens and resonates with it, allowing the seemingly voiceless to rise into song.

Station 1: Adventures of a cricket

DEPARTURE

Every great journey begins with a small step…

The story unfolds on a calm water surface. A cricket takes its first steps across a gently swaying floating bridge, symbolizing the earliest movements of life – fragile, curious, and unsteady.

Each moment of imbalance becomes a lesson in finding one’s footing.
Each step reveals that a vast world begins with the smallest details.

Growth does not begin with conquest, but with understanding and cherishing what already lies beneath our feet.

Station 2: Wings towards the sun

ASCENT

Only by surrendering to the wind can one discover how high they can fly….

From the low water surface, the gaze is drawn upward to the sky. A young bird leaves the safety of its nest to face the vast open space beyond.

The first fall is not failure, but a trial of maturity.
Through instability, wings learn to find balance.

When sunlight touches each beat of the wings, flight becomes an affirmation of life’s desire to rise.

Station 3: Rebirth

LIFE AWAKENED THROUGH LOVE

In the depths of decay, life waits quietly for a touch to awaken…

The space settles into muted tones of wood and stone. Dry tree trunks stand still, seemingly drained of vitality.

Yet deep within cracked wood, life continues to flow in silence.
Through connection – of roots, of love, of shared bonds – life begins to stir and renew itself.

No life exists in isolation.
Connection is what allows what seems barren to regain the strength to rise again.

Station 4: The dance of flowers

BLOOMING

Live like flowers – radiant in offering themselves to the world, whether under sun or rain.

The journey concludes in an eruption of color and movement. No longer the effort of a single being, but the shared joy of an entire living community.

A veil of rain washes over the space, leaving behind purity and brilliance.
Flowers bloom not to be admired, but because blooming is their nature.

To live fully.
To shine.
And to radiate outward.
